Tourism department organises 3-day photography workshop
A three-day ‘Photography workshop’ organised by the Department of Tourism, Ladakh was inaugurated by Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman, Hill Council, Leh on July 29.
The duration of the course is scheduled short, keeping in view the increasing COVID-19 cases in the district and restriction of mass gathering.
Tsering Sandup expressed gratitude to the Tourism department for coming up with such a skill development initiative. He informed that nearly 11 crore amount of fund has been sanctioned for tourism promotion in Ladakh. After Ladakh was declared as a separate Union Territory several workshops and skill development programmes have been planned for this year but due to the uncertain circumstances, most of the programme has been postponed and canceled.
He further added that Ladakh has many unexplored scenic beauties and photographers have good opportunities to explore with the context of Ladakh. He said that from such workshop, the photophile would be benefitted by the experience of the experts in the field.
Assistant Director Tourism, Jigmet Namgail elaborated on the concept of organising such programmes for the benefit of photographers as such programmes not only chisel their talents for the competitions but also enrich their personalities and enhance their skills to perform better in life.
He also informed that the Tourism Department has charted out several such programmes for the larger benefit of the people of Leh district as COVID-19 cases increase in Ladakh this is the minute program of the Tourism Department during the pandemic.
