Police file FIR against Chuchot Councillor, Mirza Hussain
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Councillor, Chuchot Constituency, Hill Council, Leh, Mirza Hussain at Police Station, Choglamsar.
The councillor reportedly punched an ASI rank officer on duty over a parking issue near Choglamsar Bridge. As per the report, the police officer got minor injuries. The case FIR no. 194/2021 under Section 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty)and Section 353(Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code were charged against the BJP councillor on July 22.
Councillor Mirza Hussain did not respond to the calls for comment.
Confirming the case registration, SSP Leh Rajiv Pandey said that the Police had served notice under Section 41 A CrPC (Notice of Appearance before Police Officer)to the accused Councilor for his appearance.
A similar incident happened on January 22, 2021, with Councillor Mirza Hussain. A scuffle broke out between Councillor and Ladakh police personnel. The brawl happened over a parking issue at NDS stadium where the inauguration of the Khelo India winter games archery competition was held.
