A full dress rehearsal parade took place ahead of the 72nd Republic Day, at the Polo Ground on January 24. 

Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya presided over the parade and unfurled the Indian flag.

The full dress rehearsal ceremony consisted of marching contingent from Central Armed Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), District PoliceLeh (men), woman 25 battalion; women Special Police Officer (SPO), District Police Leh; and Ex-servicemen, three-band parties, including the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Center (LSRC), District PoliceLeh and IR 25 Battalion female band.
Cultural troupes from both Leh and Kargil districts performed cultural songs and dances on the occasion.

Divisional Commissioner, Saugat Biswas shared that the Republic Day function would be celebrated with proper Covid-19 protocols in place. He added that limited guests would attend the function owing to the pandemic situation. The ceremony would be e-telecasted for the public.
