Under National Tobacco Control Programme, district task force conducted an inspection on July 25 and 26 in Leh.

Around 30 bundles of chewable tobacco were seized and destroyed. An amount of ₹ 5800 was charged against the violators of Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) 2003.

The task force includes Food safety, Police, Drug controller headed by Dr. Iqbal, District Health Officer and staff of NTCP wing CMO Office Leh.
