Plantation drive held at Nubra

To commemorate the 42 Red Cross day, Ladakh Scout battalion of Trishul Division organised a plantation drive at Partapur, Nubra and other nearby villages on 08 May 2014. As part of the drive, 500 Poplar trees and 100 Yarpa trees were planted in Skuru and Hunder villages of Nubra valley by the Army personnel.
The locals were also educated on the importance and benefits of trees and other flora on the environment especially for harsh and high altitude terrain of Ladakh and for further enhancing the scenic beauty of the Shayok and Nubra valley.
A large number of locals and Nambardars attended the drive and appreciated the steps taken by the Army.
