Week-long cultural revival workshop concludes in Kargil
Week-long cultural revival workshop and language awareness camp concluded on March 12 at Imam Bargah Hardass and Akchamal, Kargil.
The cultural workshop was organised by LAHDC, Kargil, and Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (LAACL), Kargil.
Prominent personalities include Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil, Akhone Mohd Ali, Mohd Ali Suboor, Mohd Ali Ashoor, Akhone Mohd Ali Saqeeb, PRI members, senior citizens, workshop instructors, trainees, and cultural enthusiasts were present.
Hojjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen, Sheikh Naazir-ul- Mehdi Muhammadi briefed about the importance of Kargil’s rich culture and language preservation. He hailed the efforts of LAACL Kargil for organizing such workshops in different areas of the district and stressed promoting the rich socio-cultural heritage of Kargil, which is unique. He said such programs will boost the rich cultural heritage of Kargil.
Around 30 participants in the cultural revival workshop and four experts were also engaged for the same.
Iftikhar Ahmed said it is overwhelming to see people have preserved and continued their unique cultural legacy. He said the UT Administration and LAACL Kargil are doing a commendable job by taking such unique initiatives to preserve cultures across the district. He expressed happiness over the participation of trainees from different age groups.
Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil said the LAACL and Hill Council Kargil are committed to the promotion and conservation of the rich cultural heritage of Kargil. He highlighted the importance of Ladakh’s rich traditions, customs, language, and heritage.
Other personalities who spoke on the occasion include Bashir Wafa, Akhone Mohd Ali Saqib, Mohd Ali Ashoor, and Nomo Anjum Fatima Mir.
