L-G reviews student rehearsals for UT Ladakh Foundation day performance at Rashtrapati Bhawan
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), along with First Lady Neelam Mishra, reviewed the final rehearsal of students set to perform for President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan on the occasion of UT Ladakh Foundation Day on October 31.
During the rehearsal, students showcased a skit, dance performances, and traditional songs accompanied by musical instruments, all of which will be presented at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Secretary of the Culture Department, Vikram Malik, IAS, informed the LG that 12 students from various schools in Leh and Kargil have been rehearsing in Leh for the past 15 days. He mentioned that the students will perform a 20-minute skit depicting the King and Queen along with the Royal Court of Ladakh, complemented by dance performances.
He also noted that the students had been trained in playing traditional musical instruments during the camp.
Commending the students and their mentors for their dedication, the LG interacted with them, offering observations and suggestions to enhance their appearance and body language for the performance. He encouraged the students to give their best and represent Ladakh with pride and excellence.
Also present during the final rehearsal were Secretary of Tourism and Culture Vikram Malik, IAS; Deputy Secretaries from LAACL Leh and Kargil, Tsewang Paljor and Nazir Hussain; Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient Mipham Otsal; officials from the Cultural Academy Department; along with teachers and students.
