Thousands of passengers from Kargil were stranded in Jammu, the winter capital of J&K since last one month. The stranded passengers said that State Govt. has arranged only one IL-76 flight on 7th March between Jammu and Leh to airlift them due to non-operating of AN-32 Courier Service. The capacity of IL-76 is maximum 300, which is inadequate for thousands of passengers.

The Stranded Passengers has requested Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Defence authority and representative of Kargil for arranging of another additional 2 sorties of IL 76 flight between Jammu and Leh on 7th March.

Meanwhile Laision Officer AN-32 Courier Service Jammu has issued tickets from sortie number 12 to 34 yesterday at Kargil House Jammu.
The stranded passengers said that in order to get ticket they have to walk mid-night to the office for line up. The stranded passengers include old aged person, patients and students.

Authorities in November 2013 had announced that AN-32 courier service would carry the passengers to and fro from Kargil to Jammu and Jammu to Kargil twice a week. Since November 2013 the flight has been operated only twelve times.
