The 3rd Bakula Rinpoche traditional archery tournament 2016 was organized by Yangtse Yargais tsogspa at community hall Chubi on November 6.

M.P Thupstan Chhewang was the chief guest and Ven. Chogji Lama Lobzang Tsering was the guest of honour on the occasion.

A total of 23 teams participated in this tournament. The final archery tournament was played between Saboo Phu Red and District Archery Association in which Saboo Phu Red won the tournament.

M.P Thupstan Chhewang said, “Archery is one of the most important part of our tradition and is one of the ten science of knowledge. Today archery is becoming famous on International and National level. Even in Ladakh also, we have observed tremendous development in the field of archery as compared to previous years."

Lobzang Angchok Baku, President Yangtse Yargais Tsogspa detailed about their work in tsogspa said, “Each year we see more and more participation in this tournament and is developing in more organised way. We hope that the archer will develop this tradition and would help to preserve it.”

Gen. Lobzang Tsering appreciates the Yangtse Yargais tsogspa for organizing this tournament in the name of Bakula Rinpoche as he was very interested in archery and hoped to continue this tournament in the near future.  

Upper Leh councilor Gen. Lobzang Nyantak, Lower Leh Councilor P. Wangdan, Nominated Councilor Rinchen Lhamo, Sakti Councilor Gyal Wangyal, LBA Vice President PT Kunzang, LBA Women wing president Tsewang Dolma and many other were present.
