Leh police organises 4-day sports festival

With the aim to promote sportsmanship amongst the youth and students, District Police Leh organized sports festival at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh on December 19 which was concluded on December 22 at Indoor stadium, Leh. The festival was organized under civic action programme.
On the concluding function, the final match of volleyball was played. In Boy’s team, Chuchot Green won the final match.
Chering Dorje Lakrook, Minister for Cooperatives & Ladakh Affairs was the chief guest at the concluding function of the sports festival. He applauded the District Police Leh for organizing such tournament of various games in winter for the youths of Leh district and hoped that such tournament will continue in coming years.
He urged the student to take full benefit by using such platform to improve their talent to represent in national level and international.
Prasanna Ramaswamy G, DC, Leh was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the sports festival. He inaugurated tug of war sport at EJM Degree college ground.
He said that playing various games and remaining busy in sport activities make one healthy and physically fit. He assured to extend all possible support from administration to make the event successful.
Udaya Bhaskar Billa, SSP Leh, on the inaugural function highlighted the sports festival and said that J&K police has been organizing such events with the aim to build better police public relation and inculcate sportsmanship spirit amongst the youths. He further requested all the youths to cooperate and participate in the games with zeal and enthusiasm in future.
During the four days sports festival various games like volley ball, 800 & 100 meters race, table tennis, badminton, Discus and shot put throw, Judo, Tug of War were played. Scintillating performances were present by orchestra team of J&K Police Leh on the occasion.
At the end, certificates and mementos were distributed among the participants.
