The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Leh celebrated National Sports Day themed 'Sports for Unity' at Open Stadium, Spituk, Leh  on August 29.

Around 28 schools of the Leh district participated in various games such as football, 4x100 meter relay race and 100m race for both boys and girls.

Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Moses Kunzang was present as chief guest. While, Everester Rigzen Dolkar; Marathon runner Jigmet Dolma; Cyclist Leakzes Angmo and other sports persons were present as special guests.

National Sports Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and the day is also dedicated to the nation's sports heroes and champions, honouring their contribution and dedication to bringing laurels to the country.
