Ladakh Scouts Red team lifts 14th CEC Cup Men's Ice Hockey Championship 2021
Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre (LSRC) Red team won 14th CEC Cup Men's Ice Hockey Championship by 4-2 goals from ITBP team on February 7at Ice Hockey Rink, NDS Sports Complex, Leh.
The tournament was organised by District Youth Services & Sports in collaboration with Ladakh Winter Sports Club, Leh.
Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson congratulated all the participants for showing extraordinary performances throughout the game. Highlighting the popularity of the game in the Union Territory, he stated that sportspersons from Ladakh are bringing glories in different winter sports at various national as well as international levels which are an inspiration to the entire sports enthusiast in the region.
Appreciating both the teams for lifting the spirit of the game, CEC Gyalson assures LAHDC Leh’s assistance in providing good facilities to the sportspersons. He also stated that he is following up on a proposal with the higher authorities for an International Level Ice Hockey rink to be constructed soon for the Ice Hockey enthusiasts of Ladakh.
CEC Gyalson also lauded the tireless efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports along with Ladakh Winter Sports Club for organising such tournaments and training camps for decades in the harsh winter of Ladakh. He directed the organisers to arrange a dedicated medical team with an ambulance on standby to look after any kind of casualties during the game in the future.
Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; Executive Councillor for Rural Dev. Dept, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; Councillors, DIGs of ITBP (Rajat Sharma, RK Verma & RK Chauhan) and Commanding Officer LSRC, Colonel Rinchen Dorjey were the guest of honour on the occasion.
A huge crowd with a packed stadium witnessed this spectacular game of Ice Hockey.
