Govt Middle School Sankar beat Govt Middle School Nyoma in handball

Inter School Tournament for Middle Schools of Leh, Chuchot, Kharu, Nyoma and Durbuk Blocks (Boys and Girls) organised by The department of Youth Services and Sports LAHDC Leh concluded on 25 May at Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh.
More than 400 students from different middle schools of these blocks participated in the tournament. During the event EC Tourism and CA&PD, Mohd Shafi Lassu was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the concluding function, Mohd Shafi Lassu appraised department of Youth Services and Sports for organising such events that help children display their talent. He said that sports play an important role in the overall growth of students besides developing team spirit and bonding in children.
Abdul Rashid, District Youth Service and Sports Officer thanked LAHDC Leh and all the departments for supporting the event.
During the tournament matches like football, volleyball, handball, discus throw, high jump, long jump, 100-metre race, 400-metre race and shot-put.
On the concluding day, a handball match was played between government Middle School Sankar and Government Middle School Nyoma, in which Government Middle School Sankar defeated the later by 5 goals.
Hassan Ali, Assistant Director Information Department Leh, Lobzang Rigzin ZEO, Education Department Leh, Khalida Bano ZEPO, Education department Leh, headmasters and teachers from different schools were also present at the occasion.
Vote of thanks was presented by Abid Ali, Officer Incharge of the venue.
