Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 held in Leh
Commemorating the 75 years of India's Independence, Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 was flagged off by Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar from Colonel Rinchen Chowk on August 13.
DC/ CEO LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Leh, Tajammul Ara was present.
Secretary Sports shared that the Fit India Freedom Run would send the positive message of maintaining fitness among the citizens and urged all to make fitness a part of their lives.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Leh volunteers, National Cadet Corps (NCC), District Youth Services and Sports officials, representatives from political parties and organisations took part in the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0.
Later, the participants took part in a virtual interaction with Union Sports Minister, Anurag Thakur. Launching the Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 programme, Anurag Thakur said that the programme is a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and shall continue till 2nd October 2021.
Fit India Freedom Run would be organised in 75 villages and 30,000 educational institutions across 744 districts in the country. More than 7.50 crores youths and citizens would be reached through this initiative to encourage them to participate in the run.
This campaign aims to motivate citizens to make a resolution to do a physical activity of at least 30 minutes daily in their lives and live by the motto, ‘Fitness ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz’.
