CEC felicitates Skarma Tsultim for outstanding Ice Speed Skating achievements

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson congratulated Skarma Tsultim Thakskan from Thiksey for her exceptional achievements in ice speed skating at both national and international levels.

Skarma’s journey in the sport has been remarkable, consistently delivering stellar performances on prestigious platforms. She secured a gold medal at the LG Cup and followed it up with another gold at the third edition of the same event. At the 2023 Khelo India Winter Games, she clinched a silver medal, and in 2024, she further solidified her standing by winning one gold, two silver, and one bronze.

On the international stage, she proudly represented India at the 2024 Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy in Jakarta, securing a gold medal. Her dominance continued at the 2024 SEA Trophy, where she bagged three gold medals and one bronze.

In 2025, Skarma’s success remained unmatched, claiming first place at the CEC Cup and winning two gold medals at the 2025 Khelo India Winter Games, reinforcing her status as a top-tier athlete. National Coach Mohd Abbass Nordakh has played an instrumental role in shaping her success, and CEC Gyalson acknowledged his contributions in guiding Skarma to new heights.

Skarma was accompanied by her father, Tundup Tsewang, along with Thiksey Joint Secretary Stanzin Thinley, Thiksey BJP Youth President Sonam Tsewang, and District Youth Vice President Stanzin Otsal during the felicitation.

CEC Tashi Gyalson praised Skarma’s dedication, hard work, and perseverance, highlighting that her achievements bring immense pride not only to her family but to the entire community. He reaffirmed LAHDC Leh’s commitment to supporting her future endeavors, ensuring that she receives the necessary assistance as she continues to break barriers in ice speed skating.
