42 schools participate in inter-school archery tournament in Leh

The Inter School archery tournament for Boys and Girls of Higher, High and Middle Schools of Leh District concluded on August 18 at NDS ground Leh. A total of 42 schools participated in the tournament.
Dorjey Motup, EC Education & Youth Services & Sports was the chief guest and Tashi Dolma, Joint Director Education, Ladakh was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dorjey Motup encouraged the students to take the advantages of the tournament and showcase their talent and skill in the sport along with studies. He assured early completion of both indoor and outdoor stadium and working towards raising sports funds in the coming General Council Meeting.
He expressed the need to render special attention to the weaker government schools and gave direction to the sports department in providing proper and full-fledged facilities to the players.
Tashi Dolma appreciated the girl’s participation in the archery tournament and advised them to work on their skill and talent for their further development. She encouraged them to work hard and expressed hope of seeing them as sports personalities playing at national and international levels.
She assured all possible help and cooperation from Education department to the Sports department.
Mohd. Tanveer of Delhi Public School and Padma Lamo of Govt. M/S Tharuk was adjudged as the best archer.
