Executive Councillor, Tourism Development Authority Zanskar (FCS&CA/RDD), LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, chaired a preparatory meeting at the Conference Hall, Dak Bungalow, Padum, on March 3 to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Zanskar Winter Sports and Tourism Festival.

The meeting was attended by Incharge SDM Mohd Hassan, Capt. Sumeet Pal (O.C Army Padum), Tourist Officer Zanskar, Incharge Executive Engineer (PHE & R&B), Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Zanskar, and a representative from SHO Zanskar.

Key discussions included finalizing the festival’s dates and venue, with a focus on promoting winter tourism through adventure sports and cultural events aimed at attracting both domestic and international visitors.

EC Tashi stressed the importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the festival's success.

The Zanskar Winter Sports and Tourism Festival is expected to enhance the region’s tourism potential while providing a platform for local athletes and artisans. Further details regarding the schedule and activities will be announced soon.
