Workshop on ‘Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries’ held in Leh Aims at generating employment for rural youths by helping them set up small-scale industries

A day-long workshop under Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) for employment generation among youths of rural areas was held at DC Conference hall on September 1. 

The workshop was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&K KVIB)  in collaboration with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (GoI).

Dorjey Motup, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC was the chief guest on the occasion.

Dorjey Motup said that such workshop is crucial for information dissemination so that maximum people can avail the benefits of the scheme. 

He also stressed KVIB to conduct awareness programmes through such workshops at a regular interval.

Dorjey Motup urged ITI students and other beneficiaries to avail maximum benefit from such workshops and schemes for their future. He also expressed hope on the department of KVIB to work in line with the requirements of the beneficiaries and for public welfare.
 
He also promised land for building their office here in Leh so that the beneficiaries do not have to wait for long distance correspondences.  

Mohammad Ashraf Iqbal, Financial Advisor / Chief Accounts Officer, J&K KVIB said that their objective is to generate employment to the unemployed youths of the rural areas of the district by helping them set up small-scale industries. He then gave a detailed account of schemes under SFURTI and SC/ST Hub.

He also appreciated CEC for promising land to construct the office building.

Industrial Training Institute Leh, J&K Bank Leh, Rural Self Employment Training Institute and others also spoke about their schemes followed by a question and answer session.
