As part of the ongoing National Wildlife Week celebrations, the Wildlife Protection Division Kargil organized a backyard birding and cleanliness drive in the Suru Valley (Khachan, Faroona) on October 6.

Children from CCI Bal-Ashram Kargil actively participated in the event. A wildlife representative talked about various bird species, their behaviours, and the significance of preserving their natural habitats through backyard birding.

The representative also emphasized the importance of connecting with nature, understanding the role of wildlife, and discussed ways humans can coexist harmoniously with nature.

This year’s Wildlife Week 2024 theme is Celebrating Nature’s Beauty, which underscores the critical need for wildlife conservation.
