Vaccination drive for Hajj pilgrims successfully concludes in Kargil

The vaccination drive for the selected Hajj pilgrims of 2025 from Kargil district was successfully completed on April 25, with vaccination camps conducted across various blocks. The drive culminated in a major camp held at the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) Office Complex in Kargil.
The event witnessed the presence of Chairperson of Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Mohd. Ali Majaz; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho; Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Liyaqat Ali; District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr. Rabia Banoo; Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Jalil Wani; Chief Agriculture Officer Ashiq Hussain Basharat; and other dignitaries.
Chairperson of the Haj Committee, Mohd. Ali Majaz, expressed gratitude to all attendees and medical staff, appreciating the pilgrims’ patience throughout the process. He informed the pilgrims that they must report to the Hajj House in Srinagar by May 8, 2025, with their departure scheduled for May 9, 2025. Advising caution and safety, he also briefed them about the administrative procedures involved in the pilgrimage.
ADC Imteeaz Kacho extended heartfelt thanks to the Chairperson, the CMO, and the medical fraternity for their dedicated efforts in ensuring a smooth and efficient vaccination drive. Highlighting the importance of immunization as an essential health measure for the sacred journey, he noted that although the drive was initially scheduled earlier, it had to be postponed to April 25 due to adverse weather conditions. He congratulated all Hajj pilgrims, offering them best wishes for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage, and advised them to travel with lightweight baggage.
CMO Dr. Liyaqat Ali also thanked the Chairperson of the Haj Committee, the ADC, and all healthcare professionals for their active involvement. He emphasized the importance of medical check-ups and vaccinations in safeguarding the health of Hajj pilgrims.
