Student union, Jammu, celebrates Losar

Losar celebration does not get limited to the region itself, All Ladakh Students Association Jammu (ALSAJ) celebrated Losar with great enthusiasm on December 28 in Jammu.
Chering Dorjay, Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative was the chief guest. He said that in Ladakh, Losar is regarded as the most important socio-religious event. The festivity forms an amalgamation of ancient rituals, folk dance, music and other performing arts.
He stressed upon the students to follow the path of righteousness as shown by the 19th Kushok Bakula. He asked the Ladakhi community to strive for achieving quality education and serve the society by working for peace, love, compassion which is fundamental to the celebration of Losar.
Applauding the role and achievements of ALSAJ, Minister said celebrating the culture away from home is a valued step taken by them.
He also hailed the establishment of blood donors group by the Association to help the ailing people of Ladakh going for medical treatment to other states.
C.Phuntsog, Former Chief Secretary, civil society members and many of students were present on the occasion.
