Social and Tribal Welfare Department organises one-day training on gender budgeting
The Social and Tribal Welfare Department of UT Ladakh organised a one- day training on gender budgeting in Kargil to facilitate inter-sectoral convergence of schemes and programmes meant for women, with the mandate to create an environment in which women realise their full potential.
During the event, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nitin Yadaw; Assistant Commissioner Development, Padma Angmo; Chief Controller Finance Kargil, Iftikhar Hussain and other sectorial officers and officials were present.
At the outset, the resource person, Dr Vibhuti Patel, briefed about the implementing agency and its activities. She said the the training is aimed at creating awareness, building capacities, knowledge and skills of various government stakeholders to promote, integrate and implement gender budgeting initiatives in different sectors such as Health, Education, Economy and Polity.
She threw light on gender analysis of Union Budget, Sub-national budget and local self-Government budgets and other topics.
A short video on gender budgeting in different states was also presented. Later, Mohammad Hussain, the Accounts Officer to the Director of the Social Welfare Department, Kargil, presented the vote of thanks.
