Sikyong Penpa Tsering leads delegation to meet Ladakh's L-G on Tibetan development projects
A delegation from the Central Tibetan Administration led by Sikyong Penpa Tsering met with Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat on July 16.
Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal, ADGP Ladakh Dr. SD Singh Jamwal, and Commissioner/Secretary to the LG L. Franklin were present at the meeting.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering apprised the LG about the Central Tibetan Administration, which is established to support Tibetans in exile under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He informed the LG that Tibetans reside in 25 countries and 37 locations within India. Sikyong further explained the election process of the Central Tibetan Administration and sought the LG’s support for development projects aimed at improving the lives of Tibetan people living in the Changthang region.
The LG asked Sikyong Penpa Tsering to provide a prioritized list of development projects so that the UT Administration can address these needs effectively. The LG also requested the Chief Representative Officer of the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement in Choglamsar, Leh to meet with the Advisor to review and prioritize the developmental works.
