In a major step towards fostering employment and self-reliance among Scheduled Tribes in Ladakh, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO) has signed a General Loan Agreement (GLA) and a Government Revolving Guarantee worth ₹10 crore with the National Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC), an enterprise under the Government of India.

The agreement was signed in the presence of T. Roumuan Paite, IRS, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of NSTFDC, and Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Managing Director of SIDCO.

This landmark partnership aims to implement Employment Generation Schemes throughout Ladakh by offering interest-subsidized loans at concessional rates to empower Scheduled Tribe communities. The initiative seeks to transform individuals from job seekers into job creators, promoting self-reliance and contributing to Ladakh’s overall socio-economic growth.

The focus of the agreement is to uplift the socio-economic status of the Scheduled Tribes by providing financial support across key sectors such as Transport, Tourism, Agriculture, the Service Industry, and Education.

This collaboration reflects a strong commitment to sustainable development and the enhancement of opportunities for Ladakh's Scheduled Tribes. By removing financial barriers and promoting entrepreneurship, the initiative aims to unlock the potential of these communities, contributing to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.
