A rally was carried out by the people of Sham area demanding a separate district and MLA constituency on July 24. 

A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to the Governor Satya Pal Malik through SDM Khaltse.

Chairman Sarpanch – Nambardar Co-ordination Committee Sham region Sonam Angchuk, Tsewang Dolma, President, Women Association Sham, Ex-IGP Tsering Phunchok, Ex-President LBA Leh Rinchen, Chotak Gyatso, Sarpanch Mangyu and Tsewang Norboo, President LBA Sham spoke in support for their demands.

Tsering Motup, SDM Khaltse assured to forward the memorandum to the Governor’s office.
