One-day seminar on Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) is to be held on February 23 at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra, Leh.
The seminar is being organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Industries and Commerce (DICCI) to create awareness among the people of Leh District about the potential of food processing business in the country and how they can benefit under PMFME.
The PMFME is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), GoI. The scheme envisages supporting individual entrepreneurs, SHGS, FPOs, Producers cooperatives, etc. engaged in the food processing business or intending to set up new businesses especially for ODOP products, by providing increased access to credit, training, marketing support, etc. to bring all such micro food processing businesses into the formal sector.
DICCI on the other hand has long experience in organising promotional activities for the MSMEs owned by the ST/SCS community in the country.
