Secy PDD chairs meeting with banks to boost PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
Vikram Singh Malik, Administrative Secretary of the Power Development Department, UT Ladakh, chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat, Leh on July 8, focusing on enhancing the role of Public Sector and Private Banks in promoting the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in Ladakh.
The meeting extensively discussed the involvement of financial institutions, both central and private banks operating in UT Ladakh, in financing the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Malik directed all banks to educate consumers about the scheme and facilitate attractive loan options for installing rooftop solar panels to harness solar energy and reduce electricity costs.
Recently, the Ladakh administration announced a top-up subsidy scheme to augment the central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojna.
The Ladakh Power Development Department has been tasked to collaborate closely with banks to ensure widespread awareness among consumers, enabling them to avail of the scheme's benefits.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer PDD, and senior officials from major banks.
