Secretary, Power Development Department, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar chaired a review meeting with the concerned agencies regarding the ongoing work of the 1MW Geothermal project at Puga on August 20.

Ravinder Kumar issued strict directions to ONGC officials to take the highest standard of precautions to avoid any environmental damages and pollution-related issues during the execution of works. 

It was informed during the meeting that on directions of Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Leh, SDM Nyoma had visited the project site recently.

Lastly, the Secretary PDD instructed to constitute a joint team consisting of officials of Revenue, PDD, LREDA, and wildlife departments to visit the site at the earliest and submit a field report before the next meeting. 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Suse; Chief Wildlife Warden, Sajjad Hussain Mufti; Project Manager ONGC, Udhay Shanker; OSD to Secretary, Dr. Stanzin Thakchos and Project Director LREDA, Engineer Chosying Dorjey.
