Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan visits Zanskar Takes stock developmental work carried out under tourism sector
Secretary Tourism, Labour and Employment, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan during his 4-day visit to Zanskar took stock of the status of various developmental works undertaken in the tourism sector in the subdivision.
The Secretary Tourism visited different villages of the subdivision and interacted with the locals to know about their issues and developmental needs. He also visited Kargyak area bordering Himachal Pradesh where at Gonbo-Rangjung he inquired about the status of the land identified for Skoryang Complex (Tourist Facilitation Centre) at the entry point of Himachal Pradesh.
The Skoryangs Complex is to be completed at an estimated project cost of Rs 8 crores while aiming to facilitate the incoming tourists in UT Ladakh.
Meanwhile, a public delegation of Kargyak Panchayat Halqa including Sarpanch, Lambardars and villagers forwarded some demands about the development of the village to the Secretary Tourism.
He inspected various infrastructural assets of the Tourism Department during the visit such as guest houses, camping sites and wayside amenities.
The Secretary Tourism directed the concerned officers to complete all the incomplete rest houses at various locations in the Lungnak Valley on top priority.
While addressing the villagers of Lungnak, he urged them to get enrolled in maximum numbers for the upcoming Labour Camp organised by the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner Kargil from July 6.
At Zangla Pass, Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan inspected the ongoing construction of 55 feet Buddha Statue constructed by the Ex-Serviceman Society of Zangla and also interacted with the society members
