The Jammu and Kashmir State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kargil celebrated the Flag Day on November 7 at Indoor Stadium, Kargil.
Around 250 scouts and guides, district officers and heads of various government and private educational institutions of Kargil town and other parts of the district participated in the function.
Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council, chief Guest said that the Flag Day is an ideal occasion to convey their role with regard to extending noble services towards the fellow human beings and the country at large.
While sharing his fond memories as a scout during his childhood days, he said, “Scouting activities can go a long way in imbibing basic human values in the minds of young boys and girls, thereby, inculcating human values, self-discipline and sense of service to humanity.”
Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC and Advocate Muhammad Amir, EC Education also spoke on the occasion and exhorted upon the youth to inculcate positive values in order to lead a better life and to give their constructive services to the humanity to make the world a better place to live.
Assistant Secretary and Scout Organizer Bashir Ahmad Wafa while highlighting the importance of the Flag Day briefed about the activities of the Scouts and Guides Kargil besides the steps being taken to popularise the activities and programmes of this noble movement.
The speakers on the occasion paid rich tributes and highlighted the role of late Amanullah Khan Afandi, Late Aga Syed Hussain Goma Kargil and Syed Mastan Shah for their commendable and praiseworthy contribution in the development of the movement in district Kargil.
Later the dignitaries, officers, heads of institutions besides the scouts and guides made donations as a token of recognition and appreciation of the scouting movement.Meanwhile, the scouts and guides approached friends, neighbours, high officials, supporters and other fellow citizens and presented Scouts/Guides stickers as a token of acclaiming them strong supporters of this noble movement.
