DC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve also the Chairman, School Health Program (SHP) directed to embark on school health program from March 1 at the district level. 

As per the program, nominated teachers from all the blocks will be trained on various health issues. The teachers will further train other teachers in their respective blocks. The teachers will accordingly teach the children at school in weekly orientation regarding drugs abuse, healthy diet, and personal hygiene and limiting the use of mobile phones.

When the children get awareness in schools, they function as messengers to their families and communities to spread the message of these health issues.

The meeting was attended by members of the School Health Program including Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir; Nodal Officer, SHP, Dr Abass Jalil, Chief Education Officer and Principal DIET.
