Safety of workers in Industrial establishments to be promoted Secretary, Labour & Employment held meeting on National Safety Day/Week campaign
National Safety Day/Week is being observed nationwide from March 4-10 under the theme ‘Our aim, zero harm.’
Secretary, Labour & Employment, UT Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan chaired a meeting to discuss strategies for promoting the safety movement and reinforcing awareness among all workers of Industrial undertakings on the importance attached to occupational safety and health.
The Secretary emphasized the importance of the safety of the workers in Industrial establishments and exhorted all concerned to spread awareness about this important aspect through mediums such as social media, radio, TV and strategic placement of hoardings.
The Secretary further directed the concerned departments to conduct awareness programmes daily till March 10. Further, it was decided during the meeting that on March 10 both the districts shall organise a workshop/seminar with active coordination and engagement of the Departments of Labour, Industry, Health, Environment and Information and ensure maximum participation of workers in the seminar.
Secretary Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Labour and Employment shall attend the workshop/seminar at Leh, while in Kargil the Deputy Commissioner has been requested to chair the function.
Divisional Forest Officer, Leh/Kargil; Joint Director (Information), Ladakh; General Manager Industries, Leh; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kargil attended the meeting.
