Road safety awareness song launched by ADGP Ladakh during traffic police Darbar
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), UT Ladakh, Dr. SD Singh Jamwal (IPS), chaired a darbar on September 24 at the Traffic Police Office in Leh, where he interacted with officers and officials of the Traffic Police Ladakh and listened to their grievances.
During his address, ADGP Dr. Jamwal praised the dedication of the Traffic Police in performing their daily duties with commitment, despite the challenges posed by Ladakh's harsh summers and extreme winters. He highlighted that the Traffic Police are the most visible face of the Ladakh Police, interacting with citizens daily. Dr. Jamwal emphasized that, in addition to enforcing traffic regulations and issuing challans, traffic officers should be the first responders on the road, offering assistance to those in need. He assured the officers that their concerns would be addressed as a priority.
As part of the event, Dr. Jamwal launched the Road Safety Awareness Song and video, produced under his supervision with the theme "I Drive Safe," and "Meri Safety, Mere Haath Mein." He commended Superintendent of Police, Traffic Ladakh, Kacho Ishtyaq AA Khan (JKPS), for composing the lyrics and the song, and also praised Motup Chospa for his work on cinematography, editing, and directing the video.
The event was attended by key officials, including Sh. Altaf Ahmed Shah (IPS), Sh. Stanzin Nurbu (JKPS), AIG Personnel, Deepak Digra (JKPS), SP Security, Farhan Jahanzeb Naqash (JKPS), Staff Officer to the ADGP, along with other officers and officials of the Traffic Police.
SP Traffic Ladakh briefed the attendees on the importance of using such songs to raise public awareness about road safety.
To conclude the event, the ADGP presented a memento to Motup Chospa for his contribution and distributed appreciation letters to officers and officials who had performed exceptionally in their duties.
