The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) conducted an outreach programme in Leh on November 12 and 13, 2024. Approximately 200 veterans and Veer Naris from Leh, Changthang, and surrounding areas attended the event, expressing appreciation for this initiative.

The program featured informative lectures by the Director of ECHS, 72 Sub Area; Director of the Rajya Sainik Board, UT Ladakh; OIC of Polyclinic, Leh; and representatives from Ladakh Scouts Records. These sessions provided veterans with valuable insights into ECHS services and the latest policies affecting them.

Key services offered included updating veterans’ records, upgrading ECHS cards, and correcting discrepancies in Aadhaar and PPO data to expedite the resolution of pending issues. Additionally, documentation was initiated, and issues related to pensions, Aadhaar cards, and the Sparsh system were resolved on-site.

Further outreach programs are planned to connect with veterans across remote and isolated areas, ensuring that policy updates and ECHS services reach even the most distant communities in UT Ladakh. This initiative aims to broaden the utilization of ECHS facilities and enhance support for Ladakh’s veteran community.
