Member of Parliament (MP) from Ladakh, Mohd Hanefa Jan, along with Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, met with the Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) at Energy Bhawan, Delhi, on January 30.

During the meeting, they discussed the region's Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative (LREI), Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA), and other renewable energy projects.

The MP and EC requested the sanctioning of Phase 2 of the LREI for Ladakh, along with approvals for a Small Hydro Project and a Solar Power Plant.
The MNRE Secretary appreciated KREDA Kargil’s efforts in implementing renewable energy projects, particularly small hydropower initiatives. He assured them that additional schemes would be explored to support Ladakh’s renewable energy development in the coming days.
