The Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar discussed the status of co-locate/ merger of Anganwadi centres with the nearest primary schools under the National Education Policy, (NEP) and issues related to children with special needs at PAGIR, Leh on June 10.
 
The CEO Kargil informed the Principal Secretary that 108 Anganwadi centres are co-located/ merged with the schools in the district. He further informed that the remaining co-location of both Anganwadi and schools is being completed in the coming days.

The Principal Secretary, SED Ladakh directed the CEO Kargil for early completion of the exercise to co-locate the Anganwadi centres and primary schools in the district, wherever feasible.

He further directed Deputy Commissioner Kargil to identify the land for the construction of Anganwadi centres near or within habitation.

DC Kargil assured that the identification of land for the construction of Anganwadi centre will be done within a week.

The Principal Secretary, SED Ladakh also discussed the vocational training, school-ITI programme. The meeting was informed that 13 such school-ITI programs were introduced in Ladakh given the implementation of NEP in the region.

During the meeting, the status of infrastructure work at the school for CwSN at Chuchot was also discussed. The Principal Secretary directed the Director SED, Ladakh to complete the remaining reconstruction work at the earliest.
