The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Nubra, Tufail Iqbal, conducted a meeting on disaster management and mitigation preparedness at the SDM Conference Hall on June 10.

During the meeting, SDM Tufail Iqbal emphasized that the primary objective in a disaster scenario would be to establish road connectivity, followed by establishing communication through cellular networks or wireless systems.

He also discussed the deployment of various teams during a disaster. These teams would include fire brigades in case of fire incidents, ambulances from the BMO office, police teams, and veterinary teams in case of livestock damage.

The meeting was attended by the Executive Engineer of PWD, Nubra; Tehsildar of Sumoor; SHO of Diskit; BMO of Diskit; Naib Tehsildar of Khalsar; LDO of Nubra; AEE of PHC; NEE of PDD; and all Panchayat Secretaries of Nubra sub-division, along with volunteers from all villages.
