Luncheon party organised in honor of HH the Dalai Lama in Leh

In honor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a luncheon party was organised by Hill Council, Leh and the district administration on July 29 at Sindhu Ghat, Leh.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama thanked the members of Hill Council, Leh and the district officers for arranging the luncheon party in his honor and said that it shows pure heart and great respect for him.
Mentioning his visits to different places during his stay in Ladakh, His Holiness expressed immense pleasure over the arrangements everywhere and extended gratefulness to all.
Mentioning about His Holiness, Chetsang Rinpoche, the Dalai Lama said that they knew each other prior to 1949 in Tibet. His Holiness said that Chetsang Rinpoche had passed through a tough life in Tibet. His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche with his generosity and widespread spiritual knowledge giving excellent Dhamma services to the people.
CEC, Dorjey Motup expressed gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for gracing the luncheon party and sparing his valuable time with the members.
He said that the people of Ladakh are very fortunate to have his holiness blessing every year and requested to visit Ladakh, again and again, to bless the people with his wisdom and spiritual guidance.
Referring to the developmental activities in the district, CEC briefed that Hill Council, Leh and the District administration are working together in fulfilling the developmental aspiration of the people.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh Avny Lavasa extended her gratitude to the Dalai Lama and said that His Holiness has touched many lives all over the world not just spiritually but also in teaching everyone the importance of being relevant in the changing time.
She said that Dalai Lama’s message of communal harmony, brotherhood and the life of Dalai Lama itself is a great inspiration for all and it will go a long way in shaping the future of Ladakh also.
She wished for His Holiness’s best health and looked forward to the next visit.
A cultural program was also organised on the occasion.
The luncheon party was also attended by His Holiness, Chetsang Rinpoche, Dorjey Motup, CEC,Leh, Thupstan Chhewang, MP Ladakh, Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA Leh, Chering Dorjey,MLC, Leh, Lama Lobzang, heads of religious, social and political organizations and many other dignitaries.
