LG Mathur inaugurates 2x6.3 MVA, 66/11kV Sub-Station & 66 kV line from Leh to GH Sub-station Calls it a step toward achieving carbon-neutral Ladakh
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, inaugurated and commissioned 2x6.3 MVA, 66/11 kV Sub-Station, and 66 kV line from Leh Sub-Station to GH Sub-Station in the presence of General Officer Commanding of 14 Corps, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, in Leh on August 16.
The project was planned and executed under Chief Engineer, MES, Leh Zone; Chief Engineer, PDD Ladakh, and NHPC Leh.
As informed by the officials of 14 Corps, the powerline would connect Leh Garrison with the National Grid and more than 25 Army units would be covered in Phase 1 of the augmentation of power supply at Leh Garrison. The Army officials informed that the power line would reduce fuel usage by almost 50 percent in the winters.
LG Mathur stated that the power supply line is another addition to the goal of achieving carbon neutrality for Ladakh.
Secretary, PDD, Ravinder Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Chief Engineer, PDD, Ghulam Ahmed Mir; officials from NHPC, LREDA, and Army were present during the inauguration.
