Ladakh set to host two-day 'Ladakh Education Conclave 2024' on quality education
The Higher Education Department, School Education Department, and Ladakh Skill Development Mission are jointly organizing the Ladakh Education Conclave 2024 on November 22-23 at the Zen Hotel, Leh.
The event will be graced by Brig (Dr) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, as the Chief Guest. The Chairmen of LAHDC Leh and Kargil have been invited as Guests of Honour.
The conclave aims to bring together policy-makers, institutions, industries, experts, teachers, students, and communities to create a unified approach toward education. It focuses on aligning school education, vocational skills, and higher education with the National Education Policy 2020 and emerging trends.
Key themes of the conclave:
1. Seamless Transition: Ensuring continuity and relevance from school to higher education.
2. Skill Integration: Embedding employability and entrepreneurial skills at all levels of education.
3. Equity and Inclusion: Improving access for students from remote, tribal, and marginalized communities.
4. Innovative Pedagogy: Leveraging digital tools and teaching methods, especially for rural and challenging geographies like Ladakh.
5. Sustainable Development: Aligning education with Ladakh’s regional socio-economic needs.
Renowned experts from the field of School Education, Faculties from Colleges and Universities, Industry representatives and Organisations with field experience shall sit with Policy makers and local practitioners to deliberate in a structured framework on key focus areas. Based on the deliberations a draft action plan for the next five years will be prepared for the concern departments.
Elected representatives, CSOs and students will also be a part of the ten Working Groups and give their inputs during the two-day Conclave.
Senior Professors from NCERT, Bhopal & Delhi, Professors from RIE (Regional Institute of Education), Ajmeer & professors from NIEP from School Education sector, senior Professors from Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Kashmir, IIM Jammu, IIT Delhi are among the academia participants while Maruti Suzuki Ltd, HCL Tech, TATA IIS, Deloitte, Jaquar Pvt Ltd, Hero MotoCorp, NASSCOM, Parimal Foundation are among the industries representatives.
