The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the ways and means to speed up the construction of newly approved National Highway 301 (Kargil-Zanskar). 

Syed Baqir Razvi and Punchok Tashi appealed to take up the matter with concerned authority for the creation of a special R&B Division with an SE level officer for execution and monitoring of this mega project for its early completion.   

From the announced PM’s package, an amount of Rs 4200 Crore has been proposed for the same road. 

The completion of this National Highway will reduce the travelling time to Zanskar and will also   boost tourism and other activities in Zanskar valley.
