CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, GoI, Nitin Gadkari on December 6 and discussed various issues about infrastructural development in Kargil.

He submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister and thanked him on behalf of people of Kargil for taking the Zojila Tunnel project and expected early completion of the project.

Discussion was also held on the need for e Ropeway Project in Kargil town and requested for early sanctioning of roads and bridges under CRIF, submitted in the Ministry and opening of Panikhar-Pahalgam road

He also briefed the Union Minster about various development projects undergoing in the district and expected that the Union Government will start more road and infrastructure works in the district in the future.
