Hill Council, Leh, expresses gratitude to GoI on approval of NISR

As the Union Cabinet approved establishment of National Institute for Sowa-Rigpa (NISR) in Leh as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, Hill Council, Leh, Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman and Executive councilors of Hill Council in a message conveyed gratitude to Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister of India on November 21.
The NISR is projected at an estimated cost of ₹47.25 Crore.
Members of the Hill Council also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP Ladakh for the decision.
Launching of winter-grade diesel for the first time in UT Ladakh (which remains unfrozen up to minus 33 degree Celsius) and the announcement of a number of development projects in the areas of power, solar energy, education and tourism with an estimated investment of ₹50,000 Crores was also mentioned.
Gyal P. Wangyal also applauded the Centre Government for ensuring the provision of making a budget allocation for the UT of Ladakh non-lapsable in order to enable the local administration to make full utilization of the total allocated funds as per the region’s developmental needs.
