Hill Council Leh and Indian Army signs agreement for CTA Land (Melongthang)
In a historic move, a significant Handing and Taking Over ceremony took place between LAHDC Leh and the ARMY for CTA Land (Melongthang) on July 15.
The agreement was signed between LAHDC Leh, led by Chairman/CEC Tashi Gyalson, and the ARMY, led by Major Gen. Ravinder Kumar, Sena Medal GOC Leh Sub area, and Brig. KMS Rana, Station Commander Nimoo, in the presence of DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve.
CEC emphasized the army’s crucial role in Ladakh, highlighting their contribution to the region's socio-economic development. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to PM for bolstering border areas with vibrant village programs, leading to significant progress over the past three years and facilitating reverse migration.
GOC Sub Area highlighted that the land exchange program will yield positive impacts for both the Hill Council and the Indian Army. He conveyed sincere gratitude to the DEO, Army officials, and civil administration for their relentless efforts in ensuring the success of this exchange.
CEC Tashi Gyalson also highlighted the strategic importance of the land exchange, emphasizing its potential to facilitate developmental projects crucial for the region’s growth. He reiterated the commitment of LAHDC Leh to collaborate closely with the Indian Army towards shared goals of progress and security.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dy. Chairman LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk; Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Agriculture, Stanzin Chosphel; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; Nominated Councillor, Ven. Konchok Tsephel, ACR, Leh, Shabir Hussain; DEO, Sunny Kaushal; PS, Tehsildar, Army officers and other revenue officials.
