Health camps targetting Tuberculosis detection held
Chairman/CEC Tashi Gyalson, who also serves as the Executive Councillor for Health, in collaboration with the BMO office of Leh and C-19 projects, successfully conducted a series of health camps on August 14. These camps aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to local communities and actively identify cases of Tuberculosis.
The health camps, which began on July 8, were held in Stakna, Matho, Chuchot, Thiksey, and several other villages within the Kharu Sub-Division, achieving significant success.
CEC Gyalson expressed his appreciation for the dedication of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and BMO Leh, Tsering Angchuk, and his team, acknowledging their crucial role in the success of these health camps. The initiative saw impressive participation and turnout from the local communities.
In addition to these specialized health camps, BMO Leh continues to provide regular health services in every village and subcentre within the block. The most recent regular camps were held in Sumdha, Kaya, and Gya villages.
Each health camp featured a team of specialists, including a Gynaecologist, Dentist, and Eye Specialist, offering essential medical services to the community.
In August 14 camp report, the X-Ray Screening Camp at S/C Choglamsar was successfully completed, with 80 screenings and X-rays conducted. Out of these, two cases were symptomatic, four were AI suggestive, and five were eligible for sputum testing. All five sputum samples tested on-site in the CBNAAT Van returned negative, with no pending samples.
