Haji Anayat Ali reviews work under Tribal Sub-Plan

Review meeting for the pace of progress on the works under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) was convened by Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council on June 7 was held at Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil.
A discussion on the progress registered on the schemes under Development of Model Village, SCA and the schemes for which funds were released under Article 257(I) was carried out.
The concerned officers informed that under Education sector the construction of ST Hostel at Degree College is in a completion stage at a cost of ₹ 2 crores 93 lakhs, the work of construction of Eklavya Model Residential School (ERMS) worth ₹ 4 crores is in full swing adding 2 e-classrooms have been established at Government Higher Secondary School Yurbaltak and Middle School Apati at a cost of ₹ 5 lakhs.
Infrastructure development under TSP, ₹ 48 lakhs has been expended for installation of hand pumps besides extension and improvement of water supply schemes. The officers further informed that 400 units of pre-fabricated polycarbonate sheet greenhouses have been established at a cost of ₹1 crore 87 lakh while ₹ 14 crores and 53 lakh stands expended on the establishment of and Merino Sheep Units in the district.
Underlining the importance of these projects for the benefit of the masses, Haji Anayat Ali stressed on timely completion to avoid an escalation of time and costs. He directed the officers to visit sites and supervise for timely completion with quality.
He stressed on the Director Tribal Affairs for timely release of funds for electrification and furnishing work of the ST Hostel in the district well in time so the hostel could be used for the students of far-flung areas of the district.
He also urged upon the officers to formulate proposals for the establishment of poultry and dairy units, milk societies besides schemes to encourage farmers in agriculture and horticulture sectors and to boost their economy.
The creation of District Officer post for Tribal Affairs Department in the district, scholarship for the student studying outside and other related issues was also discussed.
Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC, Kargil, Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Muhammad Rafi, Director Tribal Affairs, Sarwan Singh, SE PWD, Imteeaz Kacho, Additional Deputy Commissioner besides other concerned officers were present.
