To ensure basic essential services in Upper Leh, Gyal P. Wangyal, Deputy Chairman took stock of roads, sewerage lines, drinking water, transformers and electricity lines on December 28. 

Ven. Lobzang Nyantak, Upper Leh Councillor along with Executive Engineer R&B, PHE, PDD and the concerned engineers accompanied the Deputy Chairman.

The roads of  Tisuru to Takshithang, Khakshal to Sankar, Labuk House to Lamdon, Spurkha road, Horzey Masjid to Gangles bridge and Gonpa were inspected.

Gyal P Wangyal directed Xen. PHE to complete remaining proposed sewerage and drinking water pipelines and handover all the roads to R&B Division for blacktopping. Xen R&B was directed to complete all the tendering process in the winter months and Xen. PHE to ensure proper leveling of roads after laying of sewerage and drinking water pipelines.

The team also inspected two sites at Horzey –Gangles where NHPC installed transformers and is incomplete for many years.

Gyal P Wangyal was informed that the Horzey Medical Sub Centre, will be connected with power supply soon. 

He also inspected 50,000-gallon water reservoir at Gonpa where he directed Xen. PHE to complete the remaining works at the earliest.

Ven. Lobzang Nyantak requested all the engineers to address all major and minor pending works of roads, sewerage lines, drinking water and electric lines at the earliest.
