LEH :
The President and Vice President, State Govt. Employees Association, (SGEA) Leh, Tashi Chhosphel and Mohd. Ayub extended gratitude to the J&K Finance Minister Dr. Hasif Drabu for his announcement to incentivize transfers and postings in rural areas, and his assurance of coming out with a scheme to incentivize the postings in the remote areas.
The scheme shall, besides having a rational framework of allowances, also have a built-in incentive for postings in rural areas, while dis-incentivizing “deployment” in urban areas. The Finance Minister further assured that Finance Department shall work out the details of the scheme and notify it before March 31st, 2018.
The State Govt. Employees Association, Leh said that the Govt. employees working in Ladakh are going to benefit out of this announcement.
It is to mention that a team of SGEA called on J&K Finance Minister on 28th Nov. 2017 at Jammu and demanded grant of special incentives either 12.5% Special Duty Allowance or an equivalent increase in CA in favor of Govt. employees working in the harsh and difficult geographical condition of Ladakh. On that occasion, the Finance Minister considering the genuine problems of the employees has assured to take an appropriate measure soon.
The SGEA also extended thanks to Chhering Dorje, Ladakh Affairs Minister for taking up the issue with the Finance Minister about the problems of Govt. employees working in Ladakh.
