Govt. High School Minjee hosts drug abuse awareness program

As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), the District De-addiction Centre (DDAC), Kargil, in collaboration with IKMT, JUIAKL, and the Department of Education, Kargil, conducted an educational and awareness program at Government High School Minjee on May 28.
The event aimed to educate students on the dangers of drug abuse and promote preventive measures to combat the growing issue in the region.
The program commenced with a keynote address by the Manager of DDAC Kargil, who shed light on the rising concerns of substance abuse in the district.
He also informed the students about the free treatment facilities available at the DDAC and encouraged anyone in need to come forward and seek help.
Sheikh Bashir Shakiri, representing IKMT Kargil, addressed the gathering with a strong message about the causes and consequences of drug abuse. He emphasized the devastating impact of addiction on individuals, families, and society, urging everyone to take moral and social responsibility in preventing the spread of this menace.
Syed Raza Rizvi, representing JUIAK, spoke about the importance of discipline, values, and community awareness. He highlighted how drug abuse undermines the fabric of society and called on students to uphold strong personal and social ethics.
Principal of Government High School Minjee expressed heartfelt appreciation to DDAC, IKMT, JUIAK, and the Education Department for their proactive efforts in engaging with students and steering them towards a healthier, drug-free future.
