Fruits and vegetable market coming up in Agling
For the earliest functional of fruits and vegetable market (Mandi) in Agling, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, CEC along with Phuntsog Stanzin EC Agriculture inspected the work carried out on February 10.
The main purpose of the Mandi is to give modern market facilities for farmers of Leh where they can sell their products including fresh fruit, vegetables, dry fruits, flowers and all kinds of cereals.
Tsewang Punchok, Chief Horticulture Officer Leh and Angchuk, AEE Construction Division Leh informed Jamyang Tsering Namgyal about the infrastructure facilities created at the site.
The office cum residential building at a cost of ₹87 lakh and Auction Platform at a cost of ₹32 lakh was completed under Govt of Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of Marketing by PWD Construction Division last year. Land development, weighbridge and other facilities are yet to be added in the Mandi.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal directed the concerned department to make the fruits and vegetable market functional at the earliest so that farmers could be benefited.
Informing about the post of Deputy Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing for Leh district need to make the Mandi functional, he said that the Council is trying hard for post creation at the earliest.
